This is NOT an onion article.

At this point, you could put Demi Lovato in any type of headline and I’d believe it.

In a clip of their new show, Unidentified with Demi Lovato on Peacock, Demi is seen singing to a ghost to help it overcome trauma caused by sexism. Sounds crazy. Watch the clip for some context.

Demi, their friend Matthew Scott, and a paranormal investigator are in Vulture City, Arizona with an EMF device. The spirit, known as Carmen, communicates through buzzing noises through an EMF device. Demi asks if the ghost has seen any ET or UFOS. The device buzzes and Demi asks the spirit if they didn’t “want to say anything else because the boys were in here?” The device buzzes and the boys decide to leave.

Demi says “She has trauma. That’s why she doesn’t like men. I have trauma, too, so I feel you and I get it.”

The men reenter and suggest Demi sings to the spirit. Demi says when they’re emotional they like to sing “Skyscraper.” Demi sings a gorgeous 15-second rendition and the device buzzes very loudly. This proved to me that we didn’t hate celebs singing Imagine because they’re celebs, it’s because they sounded like shit.

Now here is where Demi Lovato’s team is genius and is fooling us all. Demi has been unhinged lately, with the froyo and the ET comment. However, it has kept them relevant. The comment Demi made a month or so ago about how ET is a derogatory term was the perfect promotion for this new show all about DEMI and EXTRATERRESTRIAL BEINGS.

Have they been fooling us all? Or are they the most extra being alive? I can’t tell….
