No one becomes the best at anything without dedication, practice, and grit. This is true for everyone, but it’s especially true for Hugh Hefner. The GOAT of having fun used to do whatever it took to maintain the party lifestyle that made him rich, famous, and the coolest guy to ever live. His grit becomes official as his wife claims took so much Viagra that he went deaf in one ear.
I need to reiterate that. Hugh Hefner was so committed to his sexual lifestyle that he sacrificed his hearing for it. I don’t think anyone is surprised to hear that Hefner needed PED’s to keep up with some of the women he took on as a partner in his later years. The guy was as active in bed in the 80’s as Magic Johnson, and he never appeared to slow down.
The longevity of Hefner’s career is more impressive than any athletic career anyone has ever had. Jamie Moyer pitched for almost thirty years, and Hef was getting after it the whole time. By all accounts, he went on like that until he passed at the age of 91. I think that is a better argument for why steroids should be allowed in sports than any other one that’s ever been made. Let the athletes play longer than their body wants to.
Hugh Hefner was already the man before this. Anyone who claims they don’t want his lifestyle is not attracted to women, or is way more mature than me. He also appeared on both Entourage, and Curb Your Enthusiasm, which makes him more accomplished on screen than more actors. His career was legendary. I appreciate his wife sharing personal details of the grit that made him who he was.
