It seems like Netflix is trying to become like Amazon and just do everything. Yesterday they announced that they would be hosting a celebrity golf tournament that included pro golfers from their show Full Swing as well as Formula One drivers from the show Drive to Survive. Today, the streaming superpower reported they have plans to now get into the food business as they will be opening up a restaurant.

Set to open June 30 in Los Angeles in the Short Stories Hotel right near The Grove, the restaurant has been creatively branded as Netflix Bites and will feature food from Netflix cooking show personalities. Some of the shows which Netflix is garnering chefs from include Chef’s Table, Nadiya Bakes, Drink Masters, and Nailed It!

While there is no menu available quite yet, reservation spots are now open to the public via  www.netflixbites.com and Resy. All reservations require a non-refundable deposit of $25 per person, but that fee does go towards food and beverage on the final bill. The restaurant’s hours will be 5-10pm everyday as well as brunch served on weekends from 10am-2pm PST.

Netflix Bites is considered a “pop-up,” meaning it may not be around for that long. Though Netflix has not declared an end date, I suggest anyone interested in going does so sooner rather than later.

Personally, I don’t live anywhere near LA so I won’t be attending anytime in the near future, but if I was nearby I’d definitely check it out. I do think it’s a great idea, but I have two main concerns. First, you already know that this meal is going to cost you around a year-long subscription. Netflix has been raising its prices lately and pissing a bunch of people off, so I don’t really see that coming to an end anytime soon. Second, and way worse, is that this restaurant is undeniably going to be packed with spoiled, annoying, wannabe-influencer valley girls. The amount of iPhone camera flashings will be enough to give your grandfather a seizure and I can almost guarantee you that most of the patrons will look like they just came from the Met Gala. However, I can ignore all of that as long as the food is good. Only time will tell if that turns out to be the case.
