The NCAA basketball championship, MLB Opening Day, and the Masters. What a week for sports. Oh, and to make it even better FanDuel has a crazy good promo offer. Bet just $5 & Win $150 when Jordan Spieth, Rory Mcllroy, or Dustin Johnson make the cut.
Without a doubt, the biggest story of the tournament would be the absence of Phil Mickelson. Just kidding (obviously) it is the return of the goat, Tiger Woods. Yes, I am absolutely excited to see him on the course again, but I think people are setting their expectations a little too high. This dude shattered his leg, and now his first time golfing in over a year will be on the world’s biggest stage.
Don’t get me wrong I’m rooting for him, I think everyone is, but I think this tournament would be a success for him if he is still playing on Saturday.
Tiger coming back is huge, but I think he is stealing some attention from other guys who have a shot at adding a nice-looking green jacket to their closet.
Rory has been playing some great golf and he’s motivated. That jacket is all he needs to complete his career grand slam. Look out for him to continue to play his game and be right up there competing for a win come Sunday.
I know I joked about it in the beginning, but Phil’s not being there kinda makes me sad. He’s been a staple of the Tour for so long, and honestly, he might be right with the whole Saudi League argument he’s having, but he is being a total dick about it, and going about it in a terrible way.
There are also the usual suspects. Scottie has been on fire playing amazing golf. He’s the world’s number one for a reason. 3 wins in his last 5 starts. Unreal shit. Rahm, JT, and DJ are also in the top five betting favorites. Spieth is always someone to look out for at Augusta National, and I’ll keep an eye on Brooks just because he’s so damn cool. He’s just such a dude. Watching him go to pick his ball out of the cup and seeing the dip in his back pocket makes me smile every time.
Golf is cool and everyone should watch The Masters. Shoutout to them making it free to watch so I don’t have to stream it from another, completely absolutely 100% legal, site. Also, Opening Day Sox v Yankees will be electric unless you’re a Yankees fan. Go Sox.
