End of an Era…

A gloomy day for all NFL fans, legend Rodrigo Blankenship has been waived by the Indianapolis Colts after a miserable performance against the Houston Texans this past weekend. Although he sold the entire game for the Colts, which ended in an underwhelming and shocking tie, I still can’t grasp that we won’t be seeing those thick-ass-goggles on national television anymore.

If I’m being totally honest, Rodrigo should have gotten cut immediately after the game. I mean, how do you tie with the Texans? On top of missing what would have been a game-winning field goal, Blankenship had multiple kicks go out of bounds, which is downright inexcusable. With high expectations for the Colts this season, they need to figure out their kicking situation fast. There aren’t going to be a lot of games they can just give away – even though the AFC South literally doesn’t have a single win across four teams.

Rodrigo had some good moments. And although right now he may be remembered as just another mediocre kicker, the stache and rec-specs combo deserve to live on forever. Obviously, Colts fans feel a little differently:
