The United States Army invaded Normandy on June 6, 1944. 79 years later, Americans are once again invading France, this time in a different way. The Americans have brought NASCAR to the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The 24 Hours of Le Mans is an endurance race held every year in France. Le Mans has a rich history and was recently featured in the movie Ford v. Ferrari. This race has been recently dominated by Toyota and Audi, but previously by classic European car brands such as Ferrari and Porsche.
This year, there is a newcomer to Le Mans and it comes from America.
Louder and Bigger. If this car doesn’t perfectly exemplify America, I don’t know what would. Let me tell you, this sh*t gets me fired up. I think stuff like this is what makes America great, flexing our muscles for no reason. Other countries hate America because they don’t understand us.
Not only do we have the NASCAR out there, there are a ton of American-made Cadillacs that will be on the track. Along with all the American muscle, Lebron James will be the official starter of the race. Great day to be American.
The drivers of this NASCAR will be longtime legend Jimmie Johnson, paired with former Formula One champion Jenson Button and former Le Mans winner Mike Rockenfeller.
