Confirmed Swiftie: Mac Jones

This is not the news that you want to be reading about in May while your favorite team is ramping up OTA’s. Frankly, I don’t understand what Mac Jones is thinking letting this picture see the light of day.

Since coming into the league in 2021, McCorkle “Mac” Jones has had a very odd career. He made the Pro-Bowl his rookie year after being drafted from Alabama. He had an up-and-down sophomore year where some Patriots fans were calling for Bailey Zappe to start over him. I’m not saying his seat is getting warm, but coming out as a Swiftie is not gonna get the support from the fans.

I have so many words to say about what is going on in this picture:

Outfit: To be a straight shooter, this is not a QB1 outfit. Bedazzled jacket and that shirt? It screams boyband and I wouldn’t be caught dead in it. Upon further inspection, you notice the hat. “Taylor Swift” in cursive right on the front. This is a bad look for Patriots fans and the whole organization. They used to be a team of class and compassion, now they’re led by a Swiftie.

Caption: This is not a caption that I would like to be associated with. “I’d like to talk about Mac Jones currently winning the NFL Swiftie competition BY A MILE!!” It is also not a competition that should be competed for by an NFL quarterback. I would say nobody should compete in the “NFL Swiftie” competition just like nobody should compete in the “Henry Ruggs Driving” competition.

Timing: I am all for athletes across all sports to enjoy their free time and take advantage of being rich, but this is not the way. Guys like Colin Cowherd complain when athletes go to Mexico or Jamaica during the preseason, but I think that is fine. I draw the line at a Taylor Swift concert. You gotta be better Mac.
