The annual charity ice hockey match between the NYPD and FDNY was held before the NHL playoffs. The Firefighters won the game 8-5, with John Peretta knocking out cop James Hall in a fight just seconds before the final whistle. Another brawl also broke out soon thereafter, with the Firefighters emerging victorious once again. This charity match is known to be an intense battle, with the Firefighters holding a 27-18-3 all-time record against the NYPD. The NYPD will have to wait until the next year to see if they can avenge their loss against the firefighters.
Look at this fight, I love this so much. New York City’s finest versus their bravest. I think the best part about this is that they probably went out and boozed a healthy amount together after the game concluded. I think as a country we need to fight more, and I’m not talking about sitting behind a computer and being a keyboard warrior. We need hand-to-hand combat regularly. I have a theory that having a natural enemy every day is healthy for the ego. I typically wake up in the mornings and choose someone to be mad at that day. That just puts an automatic chip on my shoulder and motivates me to get through the day.
