When I was looking to go to college, I wanted to get far away from my shitty little town. I was looking at Arizona, Florida, and pretty much anywhere far from upstate New York. I had two requirements. I wanted it to be warm when I say upstate New York. I’m not talking about an hour north of New York City; I’m talking about being an hour away from Canada. The next requirement was how great of a party school it was. I didn’t give two shits if the academics were great; I wanted to know that I could party my face off. Well, like a lot of things, I never followed through with these dreams, and I went to a community college an hour from my hometown. With all of that being said, I wish that I had also required the school to be a great sports school. Kentucky is known to be a basketball powerhouse. They are a favorite to win March Madness; they constantly go on deep runs in March and have players drafted to the pros. Well, now you can say they are also a football team.
Nobody thought that Kentucky was going to win last night. Vegas had the Gators at a -7.5 favorite. Kentucky didn’t give two shits, and straight-up defeated Florida last night. Kentucky fans didn’t know what to do with all of that excitement and rushed the field last night.
Waka Flocka Flame was huge when I was a senior in high school. He was featured on Wild Boy by MGK; he had Grove St Party, Hard In Da Paint which was played on my Varsity warm-up mix for basketball, and No Hands. Grove St Party makes you want to run through a fucking wall, and it clearly worked for Kentucky last night.
I have no idea why Grove St has become the anthem for Kentucky football, but I’m here for it. That song is great, and Kentucky football looks great. Even though Alabama is a powerhouse, Florida gave them the hardest time when Alabama only won by 2 31-29. So with that line of thinking, Kentucky beat Florida, Florida almost beat Alabama. Does that mean Kentucky can beat Alabama?
