I’m not the biggest baseball fan, but I do love the sport. I’ll put the game on when I write, and having the background noise of the banging of wood and the fans cheering is calming. You can pay attention to your phone or laptop, and through peeking, at the screen, you’ll get everything you need to know about the game. Why am I telling you about my love for baseball? Well, it’s because I have never in my life heard of a pitcher whose nickname is Dick Mountain. I have so many questions. Is his dick literally the size of a mountain? If he gets a boner, does it go straight up standing tall like a mountain? Does he call his balls boulders?
This man’s real name is Rich Hill, he first played for the Cubs in 2005, he has bounced around the league going to the Red Sox, Dodgers, and then to wear he plays now in Tampa Bay. He’s not a great pitcher, but he has played for 16 years so he obviously isn’t a bum.
The reasoning for his nickname doesn’t live up to the nickname. Maybe it’s one of those things where the nickname was given in the locker room, but Dick Mountain has a media answer.
The story of Rich Hill’s “Dick Mountain” nickname:

It originated in Boston in 2011, when Brock Holt thought it would be funny to just call him “Dick” and “Mountain” for Rich and Hill. Soon, it became just “Dick Mountain.” Hill said he still gets regularly called Dick Mountain. https://t.co/Oh03Q7krx7
