I wish I could’ve given you this news when it would’ve benefitted you. Hell, I wish I knew about it then. This news is that the Twitter account known as, “vids that go hard” posted the full The Super Mario Bros Movie to their account. People try stuff like this all the time. Hell, The Bee Movie was posted on a popular site for adult content (yes, it’s the one you’re thinking of) and stayed there for a few weeks. But the craziest thing is that the movie stayed there for seven hours and over NINE MILLION people saw it. Not that many people saw the movie in theaters this weekend.
This type of thing happening on Twitter is kind of unprecedented. Elon Musk is really making himself look like the substitute teacher who clearly didn’t care enough to even try to stop you from being an asshole. Twitter has taken a lot of criticism since he took over the company, but this is maybe their worst slipup in that period. I think this is potentially a great sign of what is to come on Twitter. Streaming is going to be a lot easier if we can do it from the same app that we go to for fight videos and sports updates.
The Super Mario Bros Movie is supposedly pretty good. It has made a ton of money so far, and they’re going to proceed to squeeze every last dollar they can out of it. No surprise there. I think the rest of us can take a little bit of joy from the fact that some executive probably heard about this and freaked out a bit over the small portion of money he lost over this. But I also think this is fitting for a Mario movie. Basically, he was smooth sailing, thinking he was doing great. All of the sudden Elon sends a shell flying at him, and bam, he loses coins. Seems familiar, doesn’t it?
