NFL Game 1 Takeaways

Holy hell what a way to start the 2022-2023 NFL season. This game was advertised as an absolute banger and my god it was. Except instead of being the intense dogfight it was supposed to be, Buffalo proved me right. They are going to the Super Bowl this year. But enough of me over-reacting to the winner of this game, here are some real takeaways I got from the 31-10 thrashing the Rams received tonight.

First of all, Cooper Kupp is still at least a top three receiver in the NFL. He was the one bright spot of a pretty stagnant offense. He had the one touchdown that the Rams scored on the day with a dazzling toe-tapper back-of-the-endzone grab. He also had 128 yards with an average of 9.8 yards a reception. Which I can’t lie, ain’t too shabby. Cooper Kupp stays getting disrespected, and I just don’t know why. He’s elite, get over it.

Second of all, Josh Allen is so good. It helps that his targets are Stefon Diggs, and Gabriel Davis. But still. He is just amazing. He threw two interceptions and still managed himself three throwing touchdowns, and a score on the ground. I mean even when he was tossing those INTs he looked to be in complete control of a defense that was touted as ‘elite’. I mean come on. MVP season absolutely loading.

And lastly, why the hell did I draft Cam Akers? I mean who was I listening to that had him as the number one back in LA? Clearly, he’s not if my 0.0 point production from him says anything. Man, what a wasted pick.
