After Nick Chubb’s injury last night on Monday Night Football, the internet has discovered that Monday Night Football is cursed.

When I first saw this, I thought to myself “Holy shit, do the 49ers play on Monday night this year?”. I then thought to myself, “This trend is actually very concerning”.

While the Kyler Murray injury wasn’t bad in comparison to Aaron Rodgers, Nick Chubb, or Damar Hamlin, it is still a concerning thing that has happened to players in the league.

Kyler Murray tore his ACL on December 12, 2022. This ended his season along with the Cardinal’s playoff hopes.

On January 2, 2023, Damar Hamlin went into cardiac arrest and was at one point deceased on the field. This was a worldwide story for the people who rushed to the field and saved his life.

On September 11, 2023, future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers was sacked for a loss and tore his Achilles on the third offensive play as a Jet. This injury brought attention to the fact that he might retire due to a combination of age and injury.

Last night, we witnessed a gruesome knee injury to Nick Chubb in the Steelers versus Browns game. A similar-looking injury to the one he suffered when he was in Georgia. I am not gonna insert the video simply out of respect for Nick Chubb, but the immediate reaction of people on social media was whether or not he would ever play the sport of football again.

I know everyone is overreacting right now, but it really does seem that the injuries are becoming more gruesome and more frequently.
