The bus driver, Ronald E. Funderburke, was arrested for driving under the influence while he was transporting the Pittsburgh Pirates from Chicago to Milwaukee for their weekend series with the Brewers.
The Illinois State Police noticed the bus traveling in an erratic manner and eventually pulled it over on Interstate 94 in Chicago. Funderburke, a contracted driver from Shelby, North Carolina, was arrested after showing signs of impairment. Although he is not an employee of the Pirates, the team expressed deep concern about the incident.
Wow, what a wild weekend when it comes to drunk driving! Here at Total Frat Move, we take a strong stance against the dangerous combination of alcohol and driving. However, as the saying goes, news is news, and I can’t help but find humor in certain situations. Personally, I believe the only acceptable times to be slightly impaired behind the wheel are on your birthday or during a victory parade after your team wins the World Series. Apart from those rare exceptions, it’s crucial to refrain from consuming alcohol and operating a team bus or any vehicle, for that matter. Safety should always be the top priority.
Along with this news being reported on Saturday, Bob Huggins was arrested with a DUI because he was double the legal limit driving around Pittsburgh.
