The real sequel of Space Jam is whatever is going on in the NBA right now. It seems like the Lakers and Celtics have completely lost their basketball ability during the conference finals. Lebron actually looks old and Jayson Tatum has turned into a pumpkin overnight.
Let’s start with the Lakers. I understand that the Lakers got in through the play-in tournament and were a low seed coming in, but it doesn’t help that Lebron has been putting up stinkers all series and Anthony Davis is now where to be found. I really do feel bad for Lebron because he just doesn’t look the same out there. He is slow and makes dumb mistakes. It doesn’t help that his best offensive teammate is a 27-year-old D’Angelo Russell who is somehow still “loading”.
I wanna give some credit to the Nuggets though, they are playing so well and this series proves that Jokic should have won the MVP over Embiid. In my opinion, he is the best offensive player in the league right now and it’s not even close. His passing and rebounding have been crucial in this series.
I don’t even have words for Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. While Tatum gets all the hate because he is the bigger star, Jaylen Brown deserves more. I haven’t seen a guy be this bad in a while. He could build the southern wall with the amount of bricks he has been putting up all series. It doesn’t help that he’s getting absolutely torched on the defensive side of the ball. I was expecting two good series and now we have both favorites down 3-0.
If it comes down to it, the NBA will be angry about a Nuggets vs. Heat finals. They know a Lakers/Celtics matchup would be a wet dream for the journalists and a huge hit for ratings. I don’t even think Scott Foster can help save either team.
A blog coming soon regarding whether Jimmy Butler is Michael Jordans long lost son because that guy can hoop. He is the main reason the Heat are relevant and consistently make deep playoff runs despite being a low seed every year.
