We are OFFICIALLY back in the midst of football season and it feels great. Here are some things that everybody should utter at least once during every football game to make it seem like they know what is going on during the game.
“Need 7 Here”: This phrase is something I heard non-stop growing up from my father complaining about how the 49ers offense stalled in the redzone every series. “Needing 7” is something that is always on the agenda no matter what the score is or how much time is left.
“That’s Gotta Be Holding”: Thinking they are in the booth alongside the likes of Chris Collinsworth and Al Michaels, the guy who thinks every penalty because “it was in the area of holding” is a guy you always want around. Even though he might be right only 42% of the time, it is still a good thing to have around you when watching a game.
“College Football Is Better Than The NFL”: This can be said either way, but this is always a good conversation starter amongst the people you are watching the games with. No matter what at the end everyone is gonna realize that football is the best sport of all time and you’re just happy to be day drunk and gambling on sports.
“That Guy Sucks”: This is always from the guy who never played football in his life, but consistently grinds Madden like it’s his job (He’s Unemployed). Nothing better than sitting on the couch, stuffing your face with beer and chips, and saying that an NFL player “sucks”.
“Big Third Down Here”: This hypothetical third down could come at any point of the game, but everyone knows that someone has to comment that it is a big third down. Saying it more than once a game is actually worth more points because it shows how good the game is.
