The Internet Is On Fire Right Now After LaMar Aldridge Signed With The Nets

Before I even start this blog, this is coming from a die-hard Knicks fan. So if it sounds like I’m bitter and a hater, well, it’s because I’m the biggest hater right now. First, it was KD and Kyrie. Alright, the league was switching from Big Threes into more of having 2 stars. You had Kawhi and PG13 with the Clippers, LeBron and AD with the Lakers, Giannis and Middleton with the Bucks, Jimmy and Bam with the Heat, Dame, and CJ with the Blazers, Luka and Porzingous in Dallas, CP3 and Booker in Phoneix, and Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid in Philly. I could go on and on, but you get my point. The league was wide open. You could make an argument for 12 teams to make the Finals. The Heat, a team that nobody thought would make the Finals were there last year. In my opinion, the more teams that can win the Finals makes a better league. Call me crazy, but I don’t want to know that it will be 3 teams at the beginning of the year.

Then the James Harden trade shocked the league. The Nets now had a Big Three, and people like me were arguing that there was only one ball, that these players don’t work together. The Nets are now 31-15 and sit at 2nd in the East. I still don’t know how they all work together. KD misses every other game because something is “sore,” and Kyrie misses games for personal reasons. That wasn’t enough for the Nets. Oh no, they needed to add a six-time all-star in Blake Griffin. Now, this isn’t prime Blake. He went from averaging 24 a night that hasn’t happened since 2018-2019. This Blake supposedly can’t move, and has no legs, hasn’t ducked in years. Well, in his first game with the Nets, he looked to grow new legs.

Then his first game against the Pistons. Blake dropped 17 points in 20 minutes, and was catching alley oops like it was 2012 again.

This doesn’t look like a man who is washed, who has no legs. This looks like at least a great role player. A former star who, for some games, can pull out his old stardom. Okay, so the Nets finished with KD, Kyrie, Harden, and Blake. The trade deadline passed, and the Nets didn’t do anything. Well, then the buyout market started. Former all-star LaMarcus Aldridge was bought out from the Spurs. It was heavily rumored that he was going to sign with the Heat. It would give the Heat a low post-scoring premise and a backup center to Bam when they wanted to play smaller. NBA fans were waiting on the news that LaMarcus had signed with the Heat.

Just kidding LaMarcus Aldridge decided to sign with the Nets. I might’ve turned into an online hater replying to people who were saying that LaMarcus was old and no longer good.

The point isn’t if LaMarcus good or not anymore, the point is that LaMarcus could greatly help other contenders. I imagine him playing on the Celtics, Heat, or Blazers where he would make the team better. The Nets don’t need more players, especially ones that have been great on the offensive side of the ball. The Nets have officially given up on the defensive side of the ball, they could’ve used those open roster spots on defensive players, players that want to do the dirty work, but instead they went for more offense. This is my only hope for them not being successful that they have forgot about half of the game, and that will be their downfall.

If you click on any tweet talking about LaMarcus Aldridge I guarantee that you will see hundreds of people being pissed off, and I don’t blame them. If this was 2010 I could easily see Durant tweeting this out again after watching all of these all stars go to one team.
