The first guy that ever broke my heart was my boss at a Jet’s Pizza. I’m not kidding. I talk about it in detail in this week’s episode of So I Was Like, but basically, I worked at a pizza place in high school, and I had a crush on my boss. He was 26 at the time, so he was nice enough to wait until I turned 18 to make a move, (thank you, so cool of him). When he did, though, we immediately started dating.

It’s been four years, so I know this was super weird, trust me. When I was 18, I probably had the maturity level of an 11-year-old. Not even a mature 11-year-old, either. Anyways, I went off to college and remember my friend, “Brenna”, wanted a job at Jet’s. Why? I have no idea. He didn’t initially want to hire her, but I convinced my boyfriend so I could have a friend that was a girl working there. She used to tell me how lucky I was to be with him because he was so cute. Again, I know, I am an idiot.

Somewhere along the lines during my freshman year of college I realized it was weird that my boyfriend was so much older. Yes, he was hot at the time, but I wanted to rush a sorority, go to date parties, and go out with my friends. He wasn’t a huge fan of that, which is super funny, because was he a fan of the fact that I was 18? (It kinda seems like he was!).

I was still in love with him, but I knew we needed to break up. It sucked, though, because he did buy me alcohol every weekend, which meant I needed a fake ID. Anyways, immediately after breaking up with him, I missed him already, it was instant regret. I tried to take it back and turn my car around, but I kept driving. A week later, I was out with my friends, still asking everyone I saw if I made the right call breaking up with my boss at Jet’s Pizza. That’s when I saw Brenna had posted a Snapchat story with him. AKA, it only took him one week to move on from one of his 18-year-old employees to another.

They immediately started dating. Him and Brenna. Which made me physically ill. Not to be dark, but for a while, every morning I woke up and thought for a second that it was all just a weird nightmare. Then, I had to remember it was real, and it felt like I was getting punched in the stomach. Every morning. I don’t think I was sober for more than like, ten minutes that entire summer. 18-year-old me was truly going through it!!! Honestly, It’s been four entire years, but sometimes I still get mad about it!!!!!! Because what the hell?! Two 18-year-old friends in a row?! AND I got her the job, AND I used to talk to her about him all the time!!

Long story short, they’re engaged now. Like, they’re gonna get married. Brenna and Jet’s Pizza Manager Man forevs <3 It’s okay, though, clearly I’m not bitter or anything. If they really are meant to be together, whatever. I was just like, the pedestrian they ran over with their car on their way to their honeymoon. I wish them the best, they deserve each other. But, because I am the reason they met, and were able to date, and are now engaged to be MARRIED, I definitely think I deserve to be mentioned in their vows. Thank you.
