Kim Kardashian was on vacation from her challenging life this week, and posted a picture of her doing a cartwheel in a thong bikini on the beach. Some fans were impressed simply by the fact that she was able to stick the landing. Other fans were just excited that she landed with her backside facing the camera.
It bothers me a little bit that Kim Kardashian is able to make millions of dollars taking the same pictures at the beach that fourteen-year-old girls across the country have taken on family vacations for years. Some people in her comments seemed very impressed by Kim’s athletic ability. One person even commented, calling her, “Kimone Biles.” Although it’s a good line, I think people should raise the bar for what Kim has to do to impress them.
Kim is in the middle of what a casual fan like myself can only call a mid-life crisis. I’m in my early twenties, and I think I have more of an idea of what I want to do with my life than Kardashian does. She tried being a lawyer, and stopped once she felt like she had gotten enough, “Working mom” compliments. She also joined the cast of this season of American Horror Story. I hope she had her fun, because I’d imagine her acting will be the final nail in the coffin of a show that should’ve ended years ago.
Kim deserves to be celebrated. I don’t think it should be for any of her so called career accomplishments. Instead we should celebrate her for continuing to do what she has always done. Which of course for Kim, is being genetically surgically gifted and photogenic as hell.
