Tom Cruise is looking to monopolize the public’s attention for the second consecutive summer in a row. The year after Top Gun‘s release with the release of his new movie, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning. His problem comes in the form of other movies coming out around the same time. Nine days after the release of Mission Impossible on July 12, the release of Barbie and Oppenheimer are set to take the attention away from Cruise. These movies are Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. The theatrical run of Oppenheimer is scheduled to occupy all available IMAX screens. This only allows a short window for Mission Impossible to play on the biggest screen. As a result of this, he is trying to have the Oppenheimer release pushed back, so Cruise can get his attention.
I’d imagine Tom Cruise typically gets his way. In addition to being rich, he’s probably a high-ranking member in the church of Scientology. I don’t know exactly how, but I imagined this allows him to be more spoiled than any actor, head of business, or Kardashian in Los Angeles. Clearly, I was wrong, because things have not been going his way recently. Shakira just curved him. And now Christopher Nolan just won a pissing contest against him without even undoing his zipper.
I think this most recent Tom Cruise tirade is another example of him being insecure over his height. If he were five foot nine he would probably be a sane, rational guy. I’d imagine whenever Kevin Hart drops out of the spotlight, he is going to go crazy searching for validation too. It’s to be expected whenever a short king is allowed to position himself on camera to be the same height as Henry Cavill. They get to see the world from the perspective of everyone else, and they can’t deal with the insecurity of their regular life. I really feel bad for Tom Cruise and his need for Hollywood’s attention. He truly can’t help it.
