There is no tighter bond than a male friend group. Between the group chat that would probably send everyone to prison if it were leaked and the constant bullying of the weakest group member, all male friend groups know how to have a good time. Jokes are never taken seriously. Pranks have no limits. And everybody loves everybody, no matter whether or not they like to admit it. As a guy, your friend group is your family. Everyone has one. Whether your hobo passing a crack pipe around a burning trash can or a Hollywood movie star handing out roles to all your buddies, every man on this planet has a friend group. Here are the top five celebrity male friend groups.
#5. The Impractical Jokers
Honestly, if Joe hadn’t left the group due to his divorce these guys would probably have been in the top two. Let’s not even talk about the show. Just the pure friendship between these guys is enough for me to watch their every move. From consistently making Murr the butt of the joke to Sal always ending up on the floor in tears, there is literally never a dry moment with these dudes. They are always on each other’s nerves in the best way possible. Little things like the way each other eats or dresses will always evoke some sort of hilarious reaction. Sometimes they’re just jokes or puns, but oftentimes it turns to real arguments over the smallest of things. Yet at the end of the day, no matter how much these guys make fun of each other or bicker about nonsense, they always have each other’s backs. That is true friendship.
#4. The Banana Boat Crew
For those of you who don’t know, The Banana Boat Crew is made up of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Paul. Yes, they are referred to by this name purely due to the fact that they took a photo on a banana boat back in 2015 (except instead of Melo, Wade’s wife Gabrielle Union took a spot on the boat — Melo was on the same vacation with them, though). Regardless of the crew’s origin, the four NBA stars have been longtime friends since entering the league. Of course, LeBron, Wade, and Melo were part of the historic ‘03 draft class. Paul, on the other hand, was drafted in ‘05. Nevertheless, the four have remained friends to this day and consistently show support to one another for their accomplishments. Many of them have teamed up together in the NBA and put on quite the show while doing so. Though Melo and Wade have retired from their playing days, the four still attend each other’s games and have been seen hanging out off the court. From competitors to work friends to best friends, The Banana Boat Crew is the epitome of respecting your competition.
#3. John Mulaney’s Intervention Gang
If you haven’t seen Baby J on Netflix, go watch it. Even if you haven’t, you should still know who John Mulaney, Nick Kroll, Bill Hader, Fred Arminsen, Mike Birbiglia, and Seth Meyers are. The gang goes on, I just can’t list them all. Anyway, this male friend group of big name comedians may be one the funniest groups of people on the planet. I mean, they held an intervention which ended up being the focal point of standup special. Who does that? These are the type of guys to just never have an off switch. Everything they see or pass by becomes a bit. There is so much comedic talent and observational humor amongst these dudes that just about anything can spark a full on laughing fit. Their chemistry is perfect and they truly do care about each other. That’s about all you can ask for in a male friend group.
#2. Joe Rogan & Friends
Okay, Joe Rogan obviously has a bunch of friends. But I’m talking about his best friends. The ones who regularly appear on his podcast, genuinely hang out behind the scenes, and basically owe Rogan their entire career. That means people like Bert Kreischer, Tom Segura, Ari Shaffir, and Shane Gillis. There are some others mixed in there as well, but just like the aforementioned Mulaney Intervention Gang, that would take all day to list out. Also like the intervention group, Rogan & Friends is made up of comedians. However, while Mulaney and his group of high school loners usually joke around doing bits and voices and such, Rogan’s friend group kinda just hangs out like every other male friend group. If you get Rogan & Friends together, there is a 100% chance that they sit around a table drinking beers, smoking cigars, and complaining about society. They are literally just like every other male friend group in the world. Only difference is these guys are actually as funny as they think they are.
#1. Sandler And The Boys
Obviously this was gonna be number one. Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade, Kevin James, and Rob Schneider are the epitome of a male friend group. When dudes think of their friend group, they attribute each member a role just like Sandler did with his crew. There’s the leader (Sandler), the fat funny one (James), the womanizer (Spade), the weirdo (Schneider), and the “miscellaneous” one (Rock). It’s a format that has worked out for friend groups since the start of time. Sandler and his boys were just the ones to perfect it. With a setup like this, there is always a fun time to be had. From James doing his best version of the Truffle Shuffle to everyone constantly beating down on Schneider and Spade, there are always laughs to be had with this group. Grownups may be a movie, but the relationship between these dudes is far from fiction.
