Zion Publicly Threatens Suicide

This summer’s infamous Zion Saga has just taken a scary turn.

Zion Williamson posted an eerily dark Instagram story yesterday, worrying fans that the Pelican’s star may be contemplating suicide.

Pretense: The Moriah Mills Situation

To catch you all up on what’s led to this point, Zion has had an interesting summer to say the least. Before anything had gone haywire, Zion and his girlfriend announced that they were pregnant in early June. Magical right? Wrong. Immediately following his big news, Zion’s notifications blew up from a Twitter rampage held by pornstar Moriah Mills

Over the course of the last month, Mills has repeatedly dragged Zion’s name through the mud. She began by getting herself banned from Twitter after posting hundreds of tweets claiming Zion had promised to move her out to New Orleans and that he was a cheating sex addict. To make matters worse, she then threatened to release a sex tape of her with Zion, before ultimately opting to get his name tattooed on her face instead.

Evidently not enough, Mills then posted a positive pregnancy test on her Instagram, claiming Zion as the father.

Trade Talks

While all of that has been going on, there have also been various trade rumors surrounding the 2x all-star. Though he hasn’t yet been moved from the Pels, Zion has been talked about in several trade packages this offseason due to his lack of playing time from injury.

Yesterday’s Suicide Scare

Yesterday, it seemed as if all of the off-court complications had finally gotten to the former Duke star. Taking to his Instagram, Zion posted a screenshot of The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Suicidal Thoughts” with the words “I can’t believe suicide’s on my f****** mind, I wanna leave.”

Though the caption is just a quote of the lyrics, it’s definitely worrying to see Zion post something of that nature. Despite everything that’s happened, Zion hasn’t spoken on the Mills situation or trade talks. This is the first time we have heard something from him in a long time and to say it’s dark would be an understatement.

I truly hope that Zion is just in his feels right now and that nothing bad comes from this. Suicide is hefty subject and a post like this shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Hopefully Zion gets some help and can pay someone to get Mills to go away (in a legal fashion, not like a hit or anything). He is a once-in-a-generational talent whose career has been plagued with on and off-court problems. Here’s to praying he seeks help and can make a return to the court.

To Moriah Mills, if you are reading this: please leave this man alone. He has gone through enough and deserves to be happy. You’ve gotten your attention and increased views on the orange and black homepage we all adore. It’s time to give it a rest. If you don’t, you may be wind up in jail as a conspirator.
