New Sam Adams Limited Edition Is So Strong It Is Banned In 15 States

I admit I am not much of a beer guy. It kinda tastes terrible. It isn’t exactly cheap in comparison by volume to stronger alcohol. It has so many carbs that you are going to get fat. Lots of things I don’t need. I tend to just get some cheap vodka, or spring for some good vodka, and get the party going.

THAT SAID, I get paid to write about things that maybe other people care about and a beer so strong that you can not buy it in every state hits that mark.

Sam Adams is brewing its season “Utopias” — which they do every other year — and the release is checking in at 28% alcohol. That takes high-gravity to another level. A level that is about FIVE TIMES the normal amount of a typical beer.

As an infrequent beer drinker, I am not too interested, however I have plenty of (annoying) friends that want to drink the most random IPAs and talk about how shitty they taste as if drinking stuff that tastes like shit is cool. I am betting heavy odds that this beer will, in fact, taste terrible.

The states that will not be selling the paint thinner? Well there are some shockers on the list.

Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Utah, Vermont and West Virginia.

ALABAMA? ARKANSAS? MISSISSIPPI? WEST VIRGINIA?

Those states do not regulate anything? What the fvck, guys?

Anyways… the ‘limited edition’ will hit shelves on Oct. 11. and will cost about $240 for a 25.4-ounce bottle.

So, if you followed my Monday Night Football prediction yesterday, you can afford that price tag…. that is if you wanna drink fermented piss.

There will only be 13,000 bottles available… or 13,000 too many.
